On May 6, 2007 Ernie Odell suffered a massive stroke and is recovering with Sue by his side. They have had many unexpected Medical costs and there were several benefits during the show this year. Cindy Benson donated Circle C Pace, a two year old gelding to be raffled off on Sunday September 9th. Diane Norcio and Meredith Seawell the show photographer were the lucky winners who immediately gave Pace to Cheryl Austin who had fallen in love with him while he was staying at their home for training. What a wonderful gesture that was and there were many teary eyes in the arena. Marilyn Clark held a 50/50 raffle that was very successful. Jane duPlesis was the winner of 50% of the proceeds and the Odells received the other 50%. There was a Spaghetti fundraiser dinner and silent auction put on by Dot Lanham, Carole Murrer and Renee Smith. The dinner was on Friday night in the fair cafeteria and it was the best spaghetti dinner I ever tasted. The dinner was a huge success. There were 85 donkeys entered this year and it was a great show. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this show possible. Rich and Cheryl Austin Ernie and Sue Odell
